Headstands for Hunger is OFFICIALLY coming to JERSEY CITY, NJ!
I am so excited to tell you we are bringing Headstands for Hunger to the Jersey City/Hoboken Community!
Many of you might be familiar with this event which happens each year in Asbury Park, NJ and the founder of the organization Vanessa Van Noy. The goal is to help feed hungry people and pets and also bring the yoga community together.
The past 5 years have been so successful that Vanessa wanted to expand the mission of Headstands beyond Monmouth County. When she reached out to me I immediately said “yes.” I had experienced the event in Asbury Park and watched how it grew the over the past few years and I was looking for more ways I could get involved in serving the community.
Our event on May 20th will take place at the Harborside Atrium from 9am -12pm. This event will benefit the Community Food Bank of NJ and specifically St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Jersey City, and also the Liberty Humane Society in Jersey City.
The morning will include an all levels yoga class featuring some of your favorite local teachers. HEADSTANDS ARE NOT REQUIRED!
Participants will also enjoy music, free samples, local vendors, and some great door prizes which include a gift bag from ATHLETA Jade yoga mat and a facial. We keep adding to the list of vendors and prizes as so many people want to get involved. You can check out the link below for more info and updates and to purchase tickets. Tickets are $10 and we ask you bring up to 10lbs of food for people or pets.
