Silent OM for Hunger with Headstands for Hunger
June 22nd in Pier Village, Long Branch
Headstands For Hunger is bringing SILENT OM again to Pier Village to help stock the summer coffers. We will be collecting plastic jars of peanut butter and jelly to donate directly to Fulfill NJ.
SILENT OM immerses practitioners in the beauty of the moment fully immersing the practitioner in the practice, no outside distractions can interfere, not even in the middle of a crowd. Under the setting sun, only the ocean breeze on your face and music in your ears, this will be a truly special way to enjoy your practice. Only those with headphones can hear, so to the outsider, this is a silent combination of movement and breath.
June 22nd at Evenflow Yoga in Red Bank
Flow through a 90 minute asana with the soulful sounds of Johanna Beekman. Johanna’s kirtan & devotional singing will open your heart and inspire you on your journey long after the last note fades into silence.
June 22nd at Prana Mudra Center in Red Bank
Part meditation, part listening exercise, sound baths are healing musical performances played with Himalayan singing bowls, crystal bowls, gongs, and chimes. Participants lay on the floor in supported savasana (corpse pose) and let the waves of sound wash over them.
June 23rd in Jersey City
Sattva Yoga is thrilled to be participating in the first annual Yoga Fest Jersey City. This event is FREE to the public, all are welcome!The first 200 attendees will receive a gift bag. International Yoga Day was declared by the United Nations in 2013 and serves as a time to unite as a community to promote peace and harmony. Coordinated by Yoga by the Bay and The Art of Living, this event will provide the community with a day of free yoga, pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation. Local studios and teachers will hold 30 minute classes in all different styles of yoga.

May Louie first took yoga in college to fulfill a Phys-Ed requirement and immediately fell in love. She, unfortunately, did not continue with her practice but reconnected with it when she retired from her corporate job in 2002 and has since become a serious yoga enthusiast. After her second retirement last year, she completed her 200-hour RYT certification, studying with Dina Crosta, Ellen Mosko, and Jamie Segal Hanley, with a focus on alignment based flow.
