We noticed a few trends in NJ yoga events and workshops this week: gratitude, bliss, and peace, with a touch of surrender and a whole lot of letting go.
The holiday season is clearly coming our way, and all of the incredible teachers we have right here in the Garden State are responding with the love, intention, and caring that we need.
From devotional singing in Princeton and Millburn with Prema Hara and Jai Uttal to lessons in Kundalini and Numerology with Bre at Synergy in Fair Haven, we know you will find something really special to be a part of.
And keep checking in on our Facebook page – we have even more incredible events we want to share with you this week.
We know we’ve said it before, but it’s always worth repeating: NJ yoga is nothing short of amazing.

Saturday at Synergy Hot Yoga in Fair Haven
Numerology is a branch of study that deals with numbers, their meaning, and how that meaning relates us in this lifetime. Seeking the truth, behind this language of the universe, can help us uncover predestined truths about ourselves. Although different schools of numerology coexist, we will be focusing on yogic numerology, as taught by Yogi Bhajan. We will open the workshop with a kundalini kriya to help bring our 10 bodies into balance. Then using our birth dates we will explore and gain insight into our personal numbers, along with receiving an individual meditation to help further this work.

Sunday at Jivamukti in Jersey City
This workshop reveals how to transform one of the most toxic emotions – shame. Shame creates feelings of unworthiness, low self-confidence and high self-doubt, and/or the inability to create healthy boundaries. When shame is dominant or dormant as an emotional imprint, it makes us feel stuck, unhappy and can deflate our spirits. Our value is often measured against another; are we “good enough” or are we as “pretty/skinny/smart/wealthy” as we ‘should’ be. Shame creates negative self-talk that hinders healthy decisions and deep happiness. When we become whole again, we can experience deeper intimacies, more creativity, a healthier sense of self and the life we want to live. You can free yourself of the grips of shame. This workshop offers practical exercises, powerful meditations and deep insights so you can experience forgiveness and real peace.
May Louie first took yoga in college to fulfill a Phys-Ed requirement and immediately fell in love. She, unfortunately, did not continue with her practice but reconnected with it when she retired from her corporate job in 2002 and has since become a serious yoga enthusiast. After her second retirement last year, she completed her 200-hour RYT certification, studying with Dina Crosta, Ellen Mosko, and Jamie Segal Hanley, with a focus on alignment based flow.
