CAN U BE HAPPY AF ?… Why are we never completely happy? I mean we have "moments". But would you consider yourself happy and content more often than not? I would guess no. I'm just as guilty . There is always some other place that would be better than here. Always a state of being that would be better than this. Always something we want that we don't have. Things could be better, bigger, smaller , thinner, richer, sexier, younger, better abs , nicer car , fancier, gluten free, longer, harder, taller, smarter, have more time , have less fat, have longer hair, have a better name, just be cooler…Etc ad nauseam. What happened to gratitude ? What happened to Santosha? (Contentment☺️) Even if we had what we wanted when we wanted it, would we be happy then? Is there ever enough? There would be something else bugging us for sure , something else shinning in the distance that we want ,we NEED.🙄 Does it ever end? What would it take for us to appreciate the blessings we have? Appreciate the people around us? The life we live? Happiness is a state of mind that most of us really need to work at even though we have so much. I challenge you to be happy as shit today .. #behappydammit #iamvegan #veganyogi #tattooedvegan #tattooedwomen #whatveganslooklike #morethanasana #veganstrong #yogabadass #yogarebel #tattooedwomen #tattooedyogi #yogalife #veganstrong #jerseyyogi #jerseygirl #yoga #yogainspiration

What would you do if you knew with 100% certainty that you wouldn’t fail? Like, really, truly what would you do? Would quit your job? Start your dream business? Move somewhere new? Finally talk to the potential love of your life? The fear of failure is REAL. Literally *all* of us have it. I’ve honestly never met anyone who hasn’t, at one time, been afraid to fail. So, if you’re feeling that way, know that it’s normal and that you’re not alone. Where we differ is in how we manage that fear. Does it stop you from trying? Does it make you pretend your dreams don’t exist? If you’re even thinking that your answer is maybe yes, then I’m challenging you to fight against that. The only difference between those living their dreams and those wishing for them is the ability to look failure in the face and do it anyway. And I mean do it {whatever it is} so well, so hard, and with so much belief in success that failure never stands a chance. You CAN do it. You are capable of anything you’ve ever dreamed, or you wouldn’t have even been able to dream it. So stop waiting. Stop hoping. Start doing and trusting that the Universe has your back. You were put on this planet to do great things. I believe in you. You’ve got this. 💪🏼

✨🧠✨This picture is @kc_kilaya and I at the PVHS Wellness Fair back in May, sharing neuro-feedback with high schoolers to get them curious about meditation practice. ⠀ ⠀ Recently I became an ambassador for @choosemuse. I truly love the headband and neuro-feedback has helped me acknowledge so many habits that do not serve me. Since I have been practicing with Muse, I have been using the journal option at the end of each practice to track how I feel with my daily morning sit and make adjustments to get deeper. Here are a few:⠀ ⠀ By using the Body mode, I have worked through my posture and discovered the optimal cushion combo to remove my discomfort. ⠀ ⠀ By using the Mind mode, I have recognized the effects of what I am eating, and how the effects of those foods carry over into the next day. Dinner is now alkaline to insure less rolling over with a cranky acidic stomach during sleep, insuring a better night's rest and better morning practice. I also cut down my sugar intake by half on the same premise. Less sugar, less brain chatter. ⠀ ⠀ By using Heart mode, I have been able to find a unique and useful practice of pranayama for diffusing a grumpy day. ⠀ ⠀ Want to learn more about technology and meditation? As a teacher on @insight and daily user of neuro-feedback, I have been working with using technology in a positive way to help us return to ourselves. I am teaching workshops, and I'd love to share more with you and your community. ☮️💟🕉 ⠀ #muse #choosemuse #neurofeedback #sleepaid #yoga #soundhealing #soundhealer #drummeditation #peace #singingbowl #singingbowls #njyoga #njyogi #yogadj #meditation #meditate #gong #gongbath #soundbath #meditatedaily #yinyoga #wellness #mindfulness #yogaretreat #soundscape #stressrelief #meditationmusic #nyyoga #nyyogi #peaceful⠀ ⠀ ⠀

Lockey Maisonneuve: Incredible Human + Author of A Girl Raised by Wolves
View this post on Instagram
#Repost @hipnewjersey with @get_repost ・・・ Our #WCW is author @LockeyMaisonneuve, who just released her book “A Girl Raised By Wolves.” #AGRBW In the late 1970's, in a gritty #HipNJ town, an adolescent girl is unwittingly handed a one-way ticket by her mother to allegedly "visit" her estranged father in Florida. Young and vulnerable, Lockey Maisonnueve has no idea she is being abandoned and sent to live with a vile and dangerous pedophile who would spend the next several years violently raping, abusing and mercilessly selling his daughter's body into childhood prostitution to other adult men. After being rescued by her naive, but well-intentioned, grandparents, her troubled life is further devastated by cancer and ravaged by the subsequent brutal murder of her mother, in which Lockey is briefly considered a suspect. "A Girl Raised by Wolves” is the inspirational memoir of a survivor of the darkest circumstances one can endure in a single lifetime and still emerge with a sense of humor and to defiantly proclaim "they didn't break me!" I still cannot believe that this is my "work". My mat is my office, @k.deer is my biz casual, and my co-workers are dreamers, creatives, fit-stars, compassionate badasses, lifelong learners, and glittered up unicorns. Dana Flynn rocked my world this weekend and got me SO excited for VibeWell 2019. My class this year is "Rise and Release" – and here's the plan: You’ve awakened with one intention: to vibe really well. Start your festival experience with VibeWell’s founder, Bridget Riepl, and get ready to love this beautiful life during 45 blissful minutes of soul-shifting movement and meditation, surrounded by an intimate group of yogis ready to tap into their natural radiance, get unstuck, magnetize the miraculous, and have the best day ever. The first 50 yogis to sign up for this class will be guaranteed a set of Sound Off headphones, the perfect accessory for a powerful flow in the pursuit of peace. Our noise-isolating headsets will cocoon each yogi by guarding against every distraction so that you can go DEEP. Are you coming?! October 27th at the Asbury Hotel, Asbury Lanes, and the Danny Clinch Gallery, with so many people I love, respect, and CANNOT wait to practice with: @johnnyscifo @baileyfrumen @mindbodyspiritinbalance @aprilyoga_beyondom @blyons_studio @vanessa_vannoy @robertsturman @jillianpransky @karenavirginia @yogi_goddess @yogastickler @ellenmoskoyoga ❤️ photo by @johnherr #yogaposes #njyogacollective #njyoga #yogaeverywhere #kdeer #gokdeer #jerseyshore @inletyogacommunity
