We had a conversation about taking big, fearless steps on our podcast with the founders of the Conscious Business Collective only a few months ago.

“Way back then” (aka only a few short months ago) Carrie and Chrissy shared an idea that had already blossomed into a movement for mindful, socially aware business owners, entrepreneurs, creatives, and multi-passionate individuals seeking to connect, communicate, learn, and network. As conscious business people themselves, Carrie and Chrissy were looking to find their tribe in the local community, so they put out a call-to-cocktails for people who want to talk LIFE, and look for ways to build each other up (rather than doing what we see WAY too much – all the tearing down!).

And OHHHHHH did they come.

So the CBC is growing, and we want to make sure everyone in the NJYC knows (and is ready to rock with them).

Here is the announcement from Carrie and Chrissy:

We’re stepping things up for our March event. We hope you can join us! Here’s the lineup:

4:00pm-5:00pm – Start the evening with a FREE yoga class with our Chrissy at The Movement (This is optional and space is limited, so be sure to sign up in advance on The Movement’s website).

5:30pm-6:30pm – Next, we’ll share knowledge and support each other with a panel discussion on the topic of being in business and in conscious community. Speakers include Bridget Riepl, co-founder of the The NJ Yoga Collective and other awesome business owners.

6:30pm-7:30pm – Mix and mingle with catered treats from The Moth Coffeehouse. There will also be live music thanks to Melchizedek Diggs of Shot and complimentary wine – woohoo!

Tickets for the event are $10. Money can be sent via the PayPal link on our FB event page or paid at the door.

You MUST register prior to the event, though, so we have an accurate count. Please send us an email to register – [email protected].

My practice feels heavy. My body feels cold and stiff. Poses I normally love are uncomfortable both mentally and physically. I know this is part of the process. Breathe trough the discomfort. Stay present. Feel what you have to feel and then release it. But some days are harder than others. And that’s okay as well. Yoga teaches us to surrender, so here I am…. Surrendering #blackgirlyoga

This clip isn’t going to catch your eye if you’re scanning for wild Instagram yoga poses. But these types of skills are just what’s missing for a lot of my students—just like me, my students tend to stress too much, work too much, couch-sit too much. So you get loss of mobility in the hips and loss of ability to do stuff our ancestors and our kids took/take for granted. ⁣ .⁣ I call it the Henry James move because I picture a big white dress, a parasol, sitting in the grass. i don’t count calories, or participate in fad diets. i don’t focus on my weight. i don’t stress about my appearance or getting my body ready for summer or an upcoming event. but at one time i did, and i don’t advise anyone to take that route to a “healthier you.” it contributed greatly to my stress and anxiety. and i never saw the “results” i was looking for. i never felt i was good enough. it took me getting diagnosed with a disease that caused me to lose 20 lbs in a short time, to realize that skinny does not mean happy or healthy. throughout the year, i’ve begun to crave movement and nutritious foods simply bc they make my body and my soul feel good, NOT bc society says i should, and that makes all the difference in my quality of life. all it took was some lifestyle changes, i just happened to be forced to make a few of them 😂 be mindful of why you are setting your intentions this new year ♥️ . . . . #yoga #yogastrong #corestrength #felxibility #fitflexyfolk #splits #splitsprogress #poweryoga #ibdwarrior #crohnicillness #yogaflow #movement #ashtanga #ashtangayoga #crohnswarrior #asana #mentalhealth #movementismedicine #mindfulnutrition #antidiet #antidietculture #vegan #yogateacher #njyogacollective #njyoga #yogagirl #sunsalutation #jumpbacks #jumpthroughs #yogaeverydamnday

[sound on] Wrist strengthening… It's no secret that I love handstands, but strong, mobile wrists are essential. So I'm sharing one of my favorite exercises. I promise you'll feel the🔥in a good way! . Try 5 "3-finger push-ups" in each position. Work your way toward 2 sets of 10 repetitions each. Decrease the load by shifting your hips back taking some weight out if your hands.
