If you haven’t heard Yoga4Sobriety yet, let us share their incredible mission with you:

Yoga4Sobriety is a complementary practice for any Twelve Step program. Our classes join together the subtle body (chakras) and the Twelve Steps. Chakras are energy centers in the body with purposes that support our Twelve Step way of living. Like everything else, our chakras can become unbalanced. When we balance our chakras while working the steps it adds another level of strength and integrates recovery into our body, mind, and spirit.

Yoga4Sobriety’s founder, Gwen, is passionate about linking the body, mind, spirit, and the Twelve Step recovery process through the 5,000-year-old practice of yoga. She founded Yoga4Sobriety in 2013 upon discovering a missing physical component in her own recovery. Gwen brings the language and principles of the Twelve Step recovery program into the physical practice of yoga. She teaches students how to breathe while releasing tension from the body, deepening the connection to a “Higher Power” (Spirit) and walking the path of recovery. In her words:

I live by the steps in my life. I became aware of the physical impact of depression, anxiety, and stress in my body. Once I learned how energy affects and impacts the body and recovery, I was inspired to share it.

Make sure to share this studio with anyone and everyone who could benefit.

#ThankfulThursday⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #Gratitude and Love to @befitwell for thinking of me with this lovely OM wooden plaque. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What does this pretty sign mean anyway? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The Om sound is the primordial sound and this symbol It represents the universal sound in the physical form. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There are 4 syllables to OM and it's pronounced – A-U-M-silence (silence being the last syllable)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'll be honest, I am not a big chanter….but chanting OM creates a vibration in both the body and the mind. When chanted in a group it unites our energies and can signify the beginning or the end of a practice. When we’re in flow with the universes plan for us, everything happens so effortlessly. 🕊 . Yoga teaches us non attachment, Aparigraha, or non-grasping. Dreaming, setting goals and having desires are so important, manifestation is a powerful tool. Breathwork is an inner journey. You will learn the breath pattern and feel how using breath alone you can access different parts of yourself, your deeper self, and emotional body.
