11 AM to 1 PM: Aligning with the Rhythm and Wisdom of Autumn with Jillian Pransky, and Live Music by the Soulful Scott E Moore

Centered, clear, and connected. Come join Jillian to harness the season’s transformational energy.

Autumn brings us both change and reconnection; good-bye and hello; transition and transformation. It is an essential time to pause, as we flow between the expansion of summer and contraction of winter. To fortify our inner resources, like a tree pulling in sap.

Weaving together mindful chakra-flow yoga, mantra, restoratives, meditation and essential teachings from her new book, Deep Listening, Jillian will guide you to release blocked energy, surrender layers of deeply held tension, and nurture your capacity for greater joy, compassion, insight, and connectedness.

You will finish feeling clear, connected, inspired, and deeply nourished. Ready to harness this season’s transformation energy!

This class will feature live music from Scott E. Moore, who will support our trip through the chakras with a blend of modern ambient beauty and sultry rhythm and blues.

Bio: “Jillian’s teaching style and deep respect for each student has literally changed my life. She is the only teacher I know who is completely lacking in judgment or ego when she teaches. I get a huge dose of love, just being in her class. I would follow her wherever she goes” – Rosanne Cash

Jillian Pransky is an international presenter and the author of Deep Listening. She is a Certified Yoga Therapist recognized by the International Association of Yoga Therapy and the director of Restorative Therapeutic Yoga teacher training for YogaWorks. At age 9, Jillian was first introduced to yoga as well as initiated into TM Meditation (her mother’s idea of ‘family counseling’). But it wasn’t until the early 90’s that she began a passionate study of yoga.  She was first certified to teach yoga in 1994 and was initiated into the ISHTA yoga lineage by Yogi Raj Alan Finger and his father Mani Finger in 1998.

Since then she has been graced with the opportunity to study deeply with many masters and today, her work is greatly influenced by Erich Schiffmann, and somatic movement therapist Dr. Ruella Frank. In 2000, after 10 years in the corporate world, Jillian left her position as Mass Market Marketing Director for St Martin’s Press to transform her part time yoga career into her full-time passion. Since then she has been featured in Dr. Memhet Oz’s video YOGA 101, offered a TEDx Talk, and appeared in many publications including The New York Times Well Blog, Yoga Journal, Self Magazine, Family Circle, Yoga Dork, Kripalu Bulletin Magazine, Yoga Journal Mentor, and has appeared on CNN.

1:30 – 3 PM Abundant Lotus: A Hip-Opening Journey and Mythology Workshop with Ellen Mosko

We will practice a variety of hip-opening postures, utilizing both yin and yang styles, to encourage a release of tensions in both muscles and mind. One of the major hip-flexor muscles, the Psoas, is associated with our fight or flight response. Targeting this area to relax and soften will instead stimulate the rest and digest response. As the hips continue to soften we’ll practice the actions for lotus or half lotus posture. Using the wall, props and your own awareness you’ll be encouraged to work at your own pace to express the fullness of the pose in your unique style. Throughout the workshop, we’ll discuss one of the myths of Lakshmi whose beauty, wealth and abundant blessings are a gift to all.

Bio: Ellen Mosko is a recognized, respected, and much loved yoga teacher, with deep roots and years of study in Iyengar, Anusara, Yin, Hatha, and Sivananda Yoga. A practicing yogi since her sophomore year in college (when a friend needed a few bodies to help her through a fitness thesis), Ellen began her teaching career in 2003. Her first 200 hour training created the foundation for both her teachings and an unwavering commitment to always learn more; today, she is a sought after “teacher’s teacher”, known for seamlessly using her cues, sequences, and every prop in the room to help students transform, connect, and better understand their alignment, anatomy, philosophy, and subtle body energetics.

Ellen is a E-RYT 500-Hour, YACEP certified yoga instructor with a library of yoga classes and writings featured by Yoga International. Ellen teaches public and private classes, trainings, and workshops nationally, and offers mentoring sessions to certified teachers seeking to explore and develop their own authentic voice. “I think our world moves at a very fast pace and in that chaos, we can lose ourselves. I teach – and I practice – because yoga is the anchor that keeps bringing me back to my own heart.”

Balancing on any part of the body other than the feat is a challenge of strength as well as faith and courage! We dare ourselves to trust our physical and mental strength when we approach these magical poses. Magic quite simply is transformation, magic occurs when we transform our self-understanding from the mundane to the infinite, when we transform something that previously seemed impossible into something that is possible. This workshop will offer practices to explore arm balances, and bring us closer to understanding some of these tricky asanas, as well as techniques and modifications for all experience levels

3 PM to 5 PM: A Photographic Exploration of the Power of Yoga to Unite People Across Cultural and Physical Divides with Robert Sturman

Join world-renowned artist/photographer, Robert Sturman, as he and his camera take us around the globe. This photographic exploration highlights the power of yoga to unite people across cultural and physical divides.

Sturman’s work has given him the opportunity to make art with yogis in Kenya, Italy, Thailand, Israel, Cuba, to name but a few. From United States prisons to orphanages in Africa and the streets of Palestine, he has photographed all walks of life, embodying yoga poses with equanimity and grace. So many people, so many stories: breast cancer survivors, Maasai Warriors, Hasidic Jews, police officers, soldiers and inmates serving life sentences, each one a unique expression of humanity.

“For me, making art is about much more than a pretty picture. My responsibility as an artist is to capture the intrinsic beauty and irreducible value of every subject, to awaken compassion and to use art to inspire humanity to move forward, reaching towards our greatest potential.”

Robert will also be sharing a few secrets on how to make powerful, poetic images, celebrating the beautiful art of yoga. One of these secrets is already within your grasp, as many of his published works have been captured through the lens of his phone.

Bio: Robert Sturman is a dedicated yogi and photographer who has increasingly focused his work on capturing the grace and embodied mindfulness of asanas. His portraits, whether set in the lively streets of Manhattan, the expansive beaches and canyons of Malibu, the timeless elegance of Walden’s New England, the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, the colorful vistas of Cuba, or the bleakness of Marin County’s San Quentin Prison, remind us that there is beauty everywhere.

Deep Dive: How to find Divine Self-Love and Healing with Stephanie Moore

Focusing on putting ourselves first and getting clear on what we really want in order to do that. The ways of finding out what is truly holding us back from moving towards our self evolution. How to find and embrace divine self love through radical acceptance, and, finally, a meditation on how to find your true desires, those that set your soul on fire.

Bio: Stephanie is a talented, reputable Spiritual Psychotherapist, Life Coach, Reiki Master/Teacher, Physical and Energy Body Worker, Reflexologist, Fire Cupping Therapist and Yoga Teacher who offers unique and individualized treatments. Paired with her degree in Psychology and 15 years experience, she has helped hundreds of people deal with areas in their lives where they are feeling stuck or stagnant and helps them move through feelings such as abandonment, betrayal, lack of self worth and unforgiveness.

She believes that once we deal with the subconscious programming and negative self talk and parts of our selves that we deny or dismiss, the parts that keep us trapped in our mind— once we heal the body with energy and align with our truest selves, we can then and only then  find the freedom to live a joyful, powerful, brave and love centered life. It is why she called her Mind Body and Spirit in Balance.

You can find Stephanie practicing out of her new studio in Lebanon, NJ, doing what she loves most, connecting, guiding and holding sacred space for those ready to journey towards the seat of their soul. When not there, she is teaching Yoga in several studios across NJ, working at Yoga Festivals, hosting Self-Care Days at Honor Yoga Studios in NJ, at Yoga Stream in Princeton and leading workshops in Self-Care, Crystal Healing, or, her specialty Hot Stone Restorative.  Recently, she was designated principle Master Healer for Honor Yoga Retreats in the Catskills, NY. She is also hosting co-facilitating Yoga/Coaching Retreats in October on the Big Island of Hawaii and next April in Costa Rica.

Yoga and Inclusivity, NOW: A Panel Discussion with Lockey Maisonneuve, Stephanie Barrios-Cullins, Phyllicia Bonanno, and Alisha DeLorenzo

We invite you to join us for a groundbreaking conversation about inclusivity and diversity in the yoga and wellness industries: where we are, who we are, where we’ve come from, and what we can do to open lines of communication and stand in solidarity with communities whose voices are inadequately heard and represented.

“Yoga is a microcosm of what’s happening in the world,” says Grace Millsap, a Charlotte-based teacher and activist. “We are not exempt from these issues, and sometimes they become even more hush-hush, as the yoga community is supposed to be a safe space.”

Our incredible panelists are advocated for more inclusion in the yoga and wellness industries. They live that mission everyday by showing up, speaking on it, and doing something about it. Come learn from them and engage in what might sometimes be uncomfortable, but ultimately is our greatest possible path towards wholeness, authenticity, and a true 8 limbed practice of yoga.
