The Essential Oil Blend You NEED for Natural Health and Balance

Over 700 years ago, the bubonic plague devastated most of Europe and parts of Asia and the Middle East. In addition to the loss of millions of lives, the spice trade was decimated by the pestilence. Out of desperation, four spice merchants became four thieves – darting from house to house to rob those who had succumbed to the illness.

Some say they used a combination of spices, herbs and garlic soaked in vinegar to protect themselves from the disease. Others say they used the oils of 4 sacred plants to keep themselves free of the plague. When they were finally caught, the 4 Thieves shared their recipe with the King in exchange for their freedom.

Theirs is the story behind Thieves Oil.

In modern times, people have been using a variety of essential oil (EO) blends to maintain natural health and balance in their bodies and homes.

As we shift into fall and allergies, colds and flus start to circulate among us, turning to natural remedies to keep our families happy, healthy and balanced is only natural.

My natural Thieves-inspired EO blend has evolved over years of personal use. It contains Clove, Rosemary, Eucalyptus, Lime, Cinnamon, Grapefruit, Peppermint and Lavender.

I developed this unique combination to maximize physical health, energetic balance and vitality, all while providing a pleasant aromatic bouquet for the senses.

Chest Rub

This EO blend is especially effective for clearing and preventing respiratory disturbances. Lime, Peppermint, Eucalyptus and Lavender all support and strengthen respiratory and immune wellness and can act as expectorants, helping to bring up and expel mucus. Apply to the chest, back and feet. Do not use on children under 4 years of age.

Inhaler

Mixed with a therapeutic sea salt (such as Himalaya or Dead Sea), this EO blend can be used to clear sinuses and respiratory congestion. In addition to the physical health benefits of this blend, Grapefruit, Rosemary, Peppermint and Lavender also aid in reducing depression and anxiety and increasing mental sharpness.

Diffuser

Add EO blend to filtered water in your diffuser to kill bacteria and viruses in the air and leave your home smelling sweet and fragrant. Clove, Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Rosemary, Cinnamon and Lime all have some combination of antiviral, antibacterial, antimicrobial, and antifungal effect.

Household Cleaner

Because of the antibacterial and antiviral benefits listed above, this mixture can be added to a blend of vinegar, water and plant based soap to keep your house clean and kill or reduce germs.

Air Purifier/Refresher

Mix in a spray bottle and use around the house to cleanse the air, kill dust mites, bacteria and viruses and leave your house smelling fresh and clean.

Muscle Relaxant

Mixed with a carrier oil, this EO blend can be used to ease soar muscles and joints. Peppermint, Clove, Cinnamon and Rosemary in particular aid in reducing stiffness and achiness.

There are so many incredible ways to use essential oils. This list is truly just a start.

Remember I am not a doctor and these uses have not been approved by the FDA. There are contraindications for these oils. Some should not to be used with certain conditions, or for certain ages. Most should not be diffused or used on surfaces of a home with a cat living in it (their livers cannot process the oils).
