National Recovery Month (Recovery Month) is a national observance held every September to educate Americans that substance use treatment and mental health services can enable those with a mental and/or substance use disorder to live a healthy and rewarding life.
Recovery Month promotes the societal benefits of prevention, treatment, and recovery for mental and substance use disorders, celebrates people in recovery, lauds the contributions of treatment and service providers, and promotes the message that recovery in all its forms is possible. Recovery Month spreads the positive message that behavioral health is essential to overall health, that prevention works, treatment is effective and people can and do recover.
And the NJYC wants to make sure you, your loved ones, your students, your fellow yogis, and everyone else know about a fantastic outlet for support right here, in NJ.
One of our incredible partners, Yoga4Sobriety, is serving the community by offering a September Retreat. It’s coming soon – only 15 days away as of today, August 22nd, but you can still book one of the few spots that’s left!
Our weekend retreats are a great place to step back and renew. Spend the weekend with a like-minded community as you explore steps one, two, and three. Deepen your understanding of the first chakra and become deeper rooted in your recovery.
Thank you for an awesome, inspiring and growth-filled weekend! I had a great time and gained new friends and new insights into myself. Can’t wait for the next retreat and the ability to go to class again very soon! xoxo, T~
The price for this wonderful retreat is extremely reasonable, at $240.00 per person. The entire weekend of practice, reflection, meditation, and connection will take place at St. Marguerite’s Retreat House, 82 W. Main St., Mendham NJ 07945. You’ll be led by Gwen Rebbeck, the founder of Yoga4Sobriety.
Gwen is passionate about linking the body, mind, spirit, and the Twelve Step recovery process through the 5,000-year-old practice of yoga. She founded Yoga4Sobriety in 2013 upon discovering a missing physical component in her own recovery. “I live by the steps in my life,” says Gwen. “I became aware of the physical impact of depression, anxiety, and stress in my body. Once I learned how energy affects and impacts the body and recovery, I was inspired to share it.”
