Roots of Yoga with Bhakti Mike
August 3rd at the Center for Health & Healing in Toms River
We will go through an introduction to one of India’s most ancient and inspiring texts: The Bhagavad Gita. Mike will also present the four different types of yoga outlined within the Gita. This is a great way to deepen your knowledge on the different paths of yoga and how they relate in our modern culture. Class will include a healthy dose of movement, an intro to the Bhagavad Gita, a discussion of the roots of yoga, and sone kirtan.
Chakra Workshop and Yin Yoga Class
August 4th at Indigo Yoga in Caldwell
Explore and balance your chakra system through aromatherapy and yin yoga. This one 1.5 hour workshop lead by Jessica will take you through all the basics of learning about the chakra system and how to clear them using yoga. Explore where the chakras are located, how they can affect different aspects of your life and how you know they are balanced or possibly out of line. Then participate in a 1-hour chakra balancing/clearing Yin Yoga class using different aromatherapy blends to help open and balance your own chakra system.

Jivamukti Yoga Workshop with Brie Jacobs

In this workshop we will dive deeper into the practice of Jivamukti Yoga .In this 2 hour practice you will come to understand the foundations of the Jivamukti Yoga method : Ahimsa; non harming, Nada; yoga of sound, Bhakti; devotion, Shastra;scriptural study, and Dhyana;connection to the eternal unchanging reality within. You will be lead through a strong but nourishing vinyasa yoga sequence, Pranayama (breath work), and meditation.
May Louie first took yoga in college to fulfill a Phys-Ed requirement and immediately fell in love. She, unfortunately, did not continue with her practice but reconnected with it when she retired from her corporate job in 2002 and has since become a serious yoga enthusiast. After her second retirement last year, she completed her 200-hour RYT certification, studying with Dina Crosta, Ellen Mosko, and Jamie Segal Hanley, with a focus on alignment based flow.
