It is simply everything that I want to embody and I hope that each day, I find more and more moments where my actions, words, and beliefs are fully aligned and I am living YOGA. My deepest gratitude to my students, who inspire me, and to the teachers in my life, especially the ones at my studio, who are some of the most compassionate and passionate individuals I know and love. Practicing yoga is not just about performing a perfect pose but about cultivating patience and compassion for ourselves. It’s about having patience with the journey it takes to get there, and accepting that every single time you attempt to embrace a pose we may fall on the ground. It might hurt. Don’t miss your window! I remember watching an interview where David Hasselhoff was talking about getting in shape for the long running Baywatch series. He said something that really stuck with me. ⠀ “It’s always easier to stay in shape then it is to get in shape.” ⠀ If you struggle every year to “get in shape” your approach to fitness may need a change. ⠀ Start small, get outside more. Live, love and create a healthy habit that can carry you through the trenches.
You’ve got one body. One heart. One soul. One shot at this thing called life. Monday morning- double tap if you need a good kick in the butt! . For the first time in years I’ve been letting myself “take off” on the weekends. . It’s been tough because as an entrepreneur I feel like if I’m not working I’m falling behind. . What I didn’t realize was that I was burning myself out so badly by working 24-7 that come Monday morning I had no desire to think about my business. . At times we all need to power through deadlines and get stuff done but it’s also super helpful to realize that life is short and there is so much more to life than the hustle. . If you work for yourself how have you designed your sched to avoid burnout?
✨ My lessons these days (and why we’re on track to double our business this year) has been around these 3 things: . 1️⃣ Trusting myself, trusting my intuition, and keeping the faith 2️⃣ Allowing myself to do what feels good (again, trusting that it will align with my path) 3️⃣ Being incredibly vulnerable, opening myself up and feeling cracked wide open in the process . It’s scary. It can feel absolutely petrifying to put yourself out there. . To be open. To be vulnerable. To be raw, real, and S E E N. . I know that we are always learning lessons and that if we pay attention to the messages around us, we can feel far more aligned with creating the life we want but damn is this one humbling. . It can feel uncomfortable to put yourself out there and not know what will happen in return. To act in faith, to follow what feels good (even through the tight chest of worry), to enjoy the moment and just be in play without having to know (or orchestrate) the exact outcome. . There’s a freedom that lies in that level of openness that I think scares the shit out of so many of us. That’s why we only play at 50-75%, never giving all of ourselves our of fear of being hurt, disappointed or let down. . We almost wait for the other shoe to drop. And that’s why these are the lessons that have been showing up for me so much lately. Giving me the opportunity to navigate them, and create new resolutions in who I am as I elevate my life. . This openness, willingness, and embracing of vulnerability, possibility, and chance is also probably why as a business we’ve already CRUSHED our 2017 numbers and nearly doubled our best months revenue yet. . Because we care, because I care, because we lead with being real, giving as much as we can and knowing full well that vulnerability, willingness, and openness lay at the core of successful leadership. . Trust me, you can show fully up as you too—your soul (and everyone else around you) will thank you for it ❤️
