This practice will include a soothing sound bath which Ellen will skillfully deliver during our restful end shape of Savasana. Restorative yoga is, in fact, better than sleep for releasing tense muscles, relieving joint aches, and transitioning the mind and body quickly from stress to calm. It also teaches conscious control of relaxation.

Together, they will utilize ancient meditation techniques in conjunction with sound healing to rejuvenate the system and bring the mind into to a clearer and calmer state. This guided meditation, infused with pranayama, Kriya and a visualization, will be enhanced with sounds and vibrations of the crystal singing bowls, crystal pyramid, drums, chimes and other healing instruments.

Wednesday night at Porta in Asbury Park
Please join us for a night of yoga, connection, community, compassion, and SEVA, raising money and awareness for Mary’s Place by the Sea. This 90 minute yoga practice will be co-led by Maria McKeon, Melanie Kramer, Melanie O’Donnell, Lara Mehanna, Bridget Riepl, and Lockey Maisonneuve.
Friday night at Honor Yoga in North Brunswick
During this specialized workshop the healing benefits of hot stone placement and restorative yoga are combined to help balance student’s energy. Restorative yoga is accessible to all levels of practice. All postures are done on the ground with the support of multiple props easing you into relaxation and surrender. For an added layer of relaxation each student will receive hot stones placed strategically on their body to enhance restoring of energy. Stephanie will also perform reiki, a technique of channeling energy for stress reduction and relaxation, throughout the workshop.

May Louie first took yoga in college to fulfill a Phys-Ed requirement and immediately fell in love. She, unfortunately, did not continue with her practice but reconnected with it when she retired from her corporate job in 2002 and has since become a serious yoga enthusiast. After her second retirement in 2017, she completed her 200-hour RYT certification, studying with Dina Crosta, Ellen Mosko, and Jamie Segal Hanley, with a focus on alignment based flow.
