Yogeswari Master Class – Backbends, Bhakti & Total Heart Opening
June 23 at Jivamukti, Jersey City
Backbends are an age-old recipe for letting go of muscular contractions and emotional hardening in the heart region. This unleashes the discovery of an unlimited potential for physical, emotional and spiritual freedom. There is a natural evolution towards Bhakti practices, which are devotional yogic practices such as chanting, poetry, ritual and offering. Communication becomes easier, and interactions with others are less contrived. A deeper understanding and capacity for love, compassion and beauty arises naturally. In this workshop, we will explore the important role that Bhakti plays in Jivamukti Yoga, and what it has to do with opening the hip flexors (Iliopsoas), the thoracic spine, shoulders, clavicular and heart region.
