Do you really know how powerful a creator you are?

Are you aware of how your thoughts and emotions affect everything, both good and bad, that has ever happened to you?

Take a look at your life. There are undoubtedly some areas you are really happy with, and there are some not so great areas too. But no, you are not a victim of destiny. Like every other game, life has its laws and rules which require understanding for any player to win.

You only need to learn the rules so you can live happy and satisfied.

I travelled to India in 2016, after years of playing with creation, clarity, and “mindful decision making” without a definition or title for exactly what I was working on and toward. During that transformative trip, I  met Deb Langley. Deb, the human being who switched on a light, showed me the Law of Attraction, and empowered me to understand it as conscious decision-making, in every moment and every thought ,that leads our lives toward joy.

But what does it really mean to understand the beautiful game called life, and play by its rules?

The Law of Attraction is the single most powerful law in the universe. Like the law of gravity, it is always in motion, always in effect. It is alive at this very moment of your life. Whether consciously or subconsciously, you are creating your future with every thought, and you cannot decide when to break from it because the creation process never ends. If you want to make a big impact on your life and ensure an amazing future, you need to understand the role you play in the Law of Attraction.

The Law of Attraction allows for infinite possibilities, infinite abundance, and infinite joy. It knows no order of difficulty, and if you let it, this law can change your life in every way. But in order to truly understand how the Law of Attraction works within your life, there are a few things we must consider.

What is the Law of Attraction?

The Law of Attraction says: “That which is likened unto itself is drawn”. Simply put, “like attracts like”. According to the law, you only attract whatever you are focused on into your life. It is the amount of energy and attention you give to a particular cause that comes back to you.

So, if you are focused on doom and gloom, you will always remain under that cloud. On the other hand, focusing on positive thoughts automatically attracts good things into your life. The universe doesn’t decide which energy (positive or negative) is better for you, but enthusiastically responds to whatever energy you are creating.

Truth is, this is why the universe is such an amazing and beautiful place. Whatever you are feeling and thinking at any given time is literally a request to the universe for the same energy. Since your energy vibrations produce equal frequencies, it is only ideal then that you continually release thoughts, feelings and energies that are in tune with the results you want to achieve, with what you want to be.

What is Needed to Begin the Law of Attraction Work?

Do you still doubt the existence of the Law of Attraction? Do you believe that negative thoughts attract negative outcomes while positivity begets positive outcomes? Whether or not you do, there are important lessons you can learn from the core message the law teaches. And these lessons can help you in your personal and professional life. Yes, it is only logical that you must envision yourself in the place you desire to be before you can get there.

So, what do you need to do to ensure the Law of Attraction works for you? Here are three important tips:

Personal Work is a Requirement

It is nice to imagine how focusing on the positive can allow the universe do the “dirty job” for us, but a great deal of personal effort is required if our positive imaginations will manifest successfully. You need to need to master the art of leaving old baggage behind, identify what you truly want, push yourself out of your comfort zone, go all out to seek new opportunities, and actively pursue only things that support your dreams.

Focus on Positive Self-talk

Can you think for a moment about the number of times you criticize yourself daily? It is that voice in your head, and we all have that voice. And the good news (or not so much) is that the voice can be either positive or negative. Any thought we focus on will grow, so mastering the art of positive self-talk is a great way to remain motivated and confident and invest in your success – rather than worrying about what could go wrong.

The Law isn’t about Controlling Others

Does the Law of Attraction appeal to you because you think you could easily circumvent the will of others? Then you need to take a deeper look at your objectives. As noted earlier, the universe is a beautiful place. It has instilled autonomy into us all. So, it is impossible to make the next person do certain things via the Law of Attraction. More so, this would be really unethical of you. While you can employ the Law of Attraction to enhance your traits and your appeal to an employee or attractive partner, you cannot possibly manifest the affection of such one if they are not in tune with the energy you resonate.

In the end using guides such as The Laws of Attraction all us to consciously live in a place where the “bumps” of life are easier while  acknowledging that the end goal is to find peace and joy.

Jennifer Vafakos

Mom, daughter, teacher, business owner, recovering fashion designer; like many I have worn different numerous hats in this lifetime. I began practicing yoga in my mid-twenties as a way to take that “one day off” from training for marathons, biathlons, triathlons as well as basically blowing off a lot of steam from a corporate day job.  What began as a “day off” threaded through years of practice and countless hours of trainings. Most notably with Dana Trixie Flynn and Sheri Celentano of Laughing Lotus where I have almost 1000 hrs of training, Baron Baptiste, Tari Prinster (yoga for women cancer survivors) Currently I am embarking on the 200 hr advanced Katonah Yoga training.

Yoga currently for myself is a potent practice to help endure and thrive in life physically and mentally.  Yoga gives me the tools to live a well lived life. I don’t call myself a yogi or care too my aim in this life is the importance of being a good human to myself and others.Particularly when our paths get bumpy and life in general is overwhelming.

Currently, I own and manage Inlet Yoga studio in Manasquan, NJ which includes heading up and coordinating workshops, classes and teacher trainings and am co-host of Here for Savasana a podcast on all things yoga but not “asana”. In multi-tasking, I have found time to be a new mom, teach yoga, run the 200 hr RYT training programs, and be talent scout for some of the most amazing instructors at the Jersey shore and NYC area.
