Who’s ready to Illuminate their heart?

Finlay Wilson is making his first ever trip to NJ, and the NJYC has the incredible honor of co-hosting his class at the Asbury Hotel on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 7 PM.

Illuminate Your Heart

The heart is wrapped in a casing, surrounded to a cage and adhered to the diaphragm. Working with the intent of exploring the heart, you will learn Forrest Yoga sequencing that will allow you to create a feeling of space underneath, around and in your heart. With your heart clear, you will be able to feel what moves your heart the most.

Finlay Wilson, in NYC for PRIDE month, is coming to Asbury Park to host a 2 hour yoga class. Make sure to buy tickets in advance, as this once in a lifetime opportunity will sell fast.

Finlay is a certified Forrest Yoga teacher, Forrest Yoga Guardian-in-training and Senior Yoga Alliance teacher. He is the founder and principal teacher of Heart Space Yoga & Bodyworks in Dundee and is a widely sought-after international yoga teacher.

In his words: “For the last two years, I have spoken publicly and online through BBC The Social on LGBT issues, Male Mental Health, and the issues around suicide. This is something I am passionate about being a voice for and the book, Kilted Yoga, has opened the doors for me to speak to people about how a yoga practice can help you with mental health struggles but also about how to get fierce about what you are passionate about, even if that is your own healing.”

Finlay began Yoga in 2007 following surgical procedures on both legs and used Yoga for his rehabilitation. Finlay has completed over 1000 hours of training with Forrest Yoga Certification Programmes along with over 1000 hours of Ashtanga and Vinyasa training.

He is highly passionate about working with children and young people and has established the Young Yogis Project to bring free Yoga to toddlers, children, teenagers and young people with special needs and disability in his hometown Dundee, Scotland.

And watch our social media – we will be posting snippets of our recent chat with Finlay all about his trip to the East Coast!

June 30th at Inlet Yoga in Manasquan

This universal law governs how energy ‘behaves’; how like is attracted to like. It is measurable and repeatable! It is quantum physics at its best. As humans, we are ‘vibrational beings’ (meaning, we emit vibes!). These ‘vibes’ are creating our reality, whether we know it or not!

Great Yoga Wall w/ Suzy Macron

June 30th at Kur Wellness in Asbury Park

Join us for a special yoga workshop on our Great Yoga Wall. We will start with some sun salutations on the mat to safely warm the entire body, then transition to our unique Yoga Wall to deepen postures, find increasing length in spine and joints, and build strength in muscles. This is an amazing way to delve more deeply into therapeutic poses with less pain. Wall benefits include reduced weight on joints such as wrists; greater body awareness; longer times in a posture improves balance and builds core; mobilization of particularly restricted areas such as tight shoulders, hips or hamstrings; inversions for restoration and rejuvenation.

NJ YogaMay Louie first took yoga in college to fulfill a Phys-Ed requirement and immediately fell in love. She, unfortunately, did not continue with her practice but reconnected with it when she retired from her corporate job in 2002 and has since become a serious yoga enthusiast. After her second retirement in 2017, she completed her 200-hour RYT certification, studying with Dina Crosta, Ellen Mosko, and Jamie Segal Hanley, with a focus on alignment based flow.
