Welcome to the Tuesday of all Tuesdays – the one after LDW, the one meant for doing all the things we haven’t done during the down dog days summer.
It’s time to “get back to school”, even if there are no kids in the house and we graduated (many, many) years ago.
Today is an unmissable moment – marked by an indescribable urge to pack snacks, buy notebooks, fill out the first few pages of a planner, get a little excited/panicky (right?), and most importantly LEARN SOMETHING.
So where, and with who, will you dig into something new?
Here’s what we recommend for your yoga-ducation:
The VibeWell Yoga Festival
VibeWell brings together the very best yoga instructors, wellness experts, and leaders in healthy living for one transformational day of practice, connection, and community. Robert Sturman, Jillian Pransky, Karena Virginia, Vanessa Van Noy, Johnny, Scifo, Phyllicia Bonanno, Stephanie Moore, Lockey Maisonneuve, Ellen Mosko, and Bailey Frumen are headlining an experiential deep dive into yoga, music, meditation, connection, community, body, mind, heart, and so much more.
We absolutely cannot wait to see you there.
Become a Yoga Teacher
There are thousands of yoga teacher trainings to choose from and hundreds of things to consider, from location (location, location) and timing to cost and (most importantly) connection with the human being who will guide you on what could quite possibly be the most transformative journey of your life. The best advice we can give is to ask questions, trust your intuition, and remind yourself that this is – and always will be – a yoga PRACTICE. There is no perfect. So once you commit, commit with your soul.
Beyond that, we want to recommend a handful of spaces, places, and people who are consistently offering well-rounded, dynamic, inspirational, intentional, and incredibly engaging trainings. The NJYC believes that every single one of these programs will take you on the journey of a lifetime, plus gift you with the skills and knowledge you need to teach with an authentic voice. Check them out HERE.
Practice, Practice, Practice
One of our amazing writers, May Louie, consistently finds + shares workshops, immersions, trainings, and events happening at local studios. May’s most recent article is right HERE, filled with everything from Honor Yoga’s THE PRACTICE with Janice to Elevate Yoga’s inspiring conversation on Inclusivity – a conversation we will continue at VibeWell!
Commit to Self-Care
September can sometimes be synonymous with burnout because we make NO time for mind, body, and soul nourishment.
Show yourself some LOVE. Book the class, take the hike, get the massage (or maybe cupping with Stephanie at VibeWell), sit in the sauna, rejuvenate with some cryotherapy, sip the Coffee (Surf) with a friend you’ve been meaning to connect with, offer your time and talents to a charity that lights you up from the inside out. Think about how you want to FEEL, rather than what you need “to do”. Yes, that is a nod to Danielle LaPorte – we love her method of desire mapping and we engage in it every single morning by simply asking “how do we want to FEEL today”? Passionate, engaged, spicy, loved, contented, connected, liberated, soulful, sultry, free. The list goes on…
