Yoga is really trying to liberate us from shame about our bodies. To love your body is a very important thing – I think the health of your mind depends on your being able to love your body.
– Rodney Yee
Wow. Powerful stuff…and we 1000% percent agree.
Many of the events we discovered for this week are trending towards self-love, acceptance, care, and connection. We are especially enamored with the Tween Goddess Circle at Bee You Yoga in Manasquan and Karen Gilmour’s Downward Doll Yoga Party, because both workshops will serve our youngest yogis.
Cultivating a positive self-image is so incredibly important, especially in the formative moments of life. So mommas (and dads!) get your little ones to these events and allow them to soak in the benefits of the practice NOW.
We wish we started back then…don’t you? Just imagine growing up with yoga as a foundational piece of your personal puzzle.
Okay, okay – we’ll stop preaching and let you all get back to practicing and teaching. We love you. See you soon!
And stay tuned for details on the VIBEWELL Yoga Festival. We have a huge meeting this week and lots of information (and tickets) to come.

May Louie first took yoga in college to fulfill a Phys-Ed requirement and immediately fell in love. She, unfortunately, did not continue with her practice but reconnected with it when she retired from her corporate job in 2002 and has since become a serious yoga enthusiast. After her second retirement last year, she completed her 200-hour RYT certification, studying with Dina Crosta, Ellen Mosko, and Jamie Segal Hanley, with a focus on alignment based flow.
