You can find some many places to move, groove, meditate, learn, breathe, and grow in NJ this week.
We’ve got an awesome list of can’t miss opportunities, from mini-retreats, immersions, and spring celebrations to fun and funky flows with adult-only libations (whiskey and wine!).
Don’t forget to tag us at @njyogacollective so we can see where you choose to spend your time and deepen your practice. If you make a new yoga BFF, give us a virtual “namaste-heeeeeeeey” in your IG stories! If you nail your first crow, make sure to let us know – oh and also if you take your practice out into the snow (the weather can’t stop of flow, fo’ sho’).
Haha! Okay, enough. Have an amazing night. We love you!
Hot or Not Yoga, Manahawkin
Join Beth Connelly for a unique and beautiful equinox celebration, giving thanks, and creating a sacred space to help you reach your greatest good and highest potential.
Students will have an opportunity to set intentions- taking advantage of the high vibration formed by the collective consciousness of the group to plant energetic seeds for the season to come.
Students will also have an opportunity to write down any situations that are no longer serving purpose in their lives, or to write the name of a person who needs healing. The papers will be kept private and placed in a crystal bowl so the vibration can be raised, prayed upon, and burned the next day at the exact time of the equinox.
Hot or Not Yoga, Manahawkin
The fusion of Yin yoga with Vinyasa flow creates an integrated, balanced 75-minute yoga practice. The standing sequence is flowing movement requiring strength and balance. The internal heat generated burns off excess energy allowing for a quieting of the body and mind in order to dive more deeply into the Yin portion. These longer held poses are designed to release connective tissues and create space and integrity in the joints; allowing energy to flow through the body.

Sacral Chakra Workshop with Josh Ansley
Yoga Essence, New Providence
The Chakras, or energy centers within our body are responsible for receiving and expressing energy. They are the storage centers for our life experiences and they affect us physically, mentally and spiritually. The sacral chakra is the second chakra. It is associated with the emotional body, sensuality, and creativity. Its element is water and as such, its energy is characterized by flow and flexibility. The function of the sacral chakra is directed by the principle of pleasure. Josh’s workshop will include discussion, meditation, breath work, journaling and asana practice.
May Louie first took yoga in college to fulfill a Phys-Ed requirement and immediately fell in love. She, unfortunately, did not continue with her practice but reconnected with it when she retired from her corporate job in 2002 and has since become a serious yoga enthusiast. After her second retirement last year, she completed her 200-hour RYT certification, studying with Dina Crosta, Ellen Mosko, and Jamie Segal Hanley, with a focus on alignment based flow.
