Join Varrita for an introduction to Thai Massage! Thai massage is a bodywork practice composed of stretching muscles, moving joints, and acupressure. The practitioner uses hands, forearms, elbows, legs, knees, and feet to gently move the client into a sequence of stretches. Varrita has journeyed to Thailand several times to learn this wonderful modality direct from the source. She’ll begin with a brief overview of the history of Thai Massage, and a warm-up of gentle movement. Then you’ll learn a 20-minute Thai massage routine of fundamental techniques and stretches for the feet, legs, back, and shoulders.
May Louie first took yoga in college to fulfill a Phys-Ed requirement and immediately fell in love. She, unfortunately, did not continue with her practice but reconnected with it when she retired from her corporate job in 2002 and has since become a serious yoga enthusiast. After her second retirement last year, she completed her 200-hour RYT certification, studying with Dina Crosta, Ellen Mosko, and Jamie Segal Hanley, with a focus on alignment based flow.
