NJ Kids Yoga
This period of life that we call “childhood” in 2017 isn’t exactly how most of us remember it from our own glory days. Today, kids are beyond busy, with at least one activity on their daily agendas, from school and sports to clubs, tutors and enrichment sessions. Plus a little time for friends, right?
The constant hustle and shuffle required to get in and out of all the need-to-be places is enough to completely exhaust most adults (and I know many parents reading this will fully admit to wanting a nap!), so just imagine how our kids are feeling.
Toddlers, kids, tweens and teens need downtime. They need permission to just BE.

Being present is one of the greatest lessons our yoga practice offers – to all ages. By introducing yoga and mindfulness early on, we can equip our little ones with transformational tools that will never, ever get old or go out of style. And best of all, they can be the change that our world wants and needs to see by practicing both on and off the mat!
There are many reasons why I think it is so important to share yoga with kids:
Yoga encourages the development of a healthy, active lifestyle.
Yoga encourages cooperation and compassion among
peers.
Yoga teaches healthy coping mechanisms that can be used throughout life.
Yoga helps promote a peaceful and relaxed state of body and mind.
Yoga promotes self-awareness and self-confidence.
Yoga improves focus and concentration.
Yoga is a non-competitive activity.
Yoga teaches discipline and responsibility.
Yoga encourages kind social interactions.
And most importantly, IT’S FUN!
