“I was looking for someone to inspire me, motivate me, support me, keep me focused… Someone who would love me, cherish me, make me happy, and I realized all along that I was looking for myself.”

 –Unknown

 Wow! Right?

This quote came across our desks this past week and we were like – THAT is what we need to read as we head into the new year. A daily reminder to make 2018 the year of self-discovery, self-love and personal acceptance.

And can we end 2017 with lots of light and love, celebrating each other and ourselves for all the beauty within us and around us?

These pictures spoke directly to all of that, and more. Thank you for sharing them! We love you guys. Keep them coming…

Much like the cycles of the moon, eventually there comes a time to cycle in some brand new @apeiron_yoga mat designs ? This new collection (including the mat I’m using here!) has some of my favorite designs yet, and I can’t wait to roll them all out in the online shop in early 2018 #StayTuned #ComingSoon #apeironyoga #njyogacollective #yoga #wheelpose #mandala #art #moon #lunarcycle #mooncycle #yogamat #ecofriendly #wearetr #yogaeverydamnday #livelimitless

Duality sits at the core of the human identity. One moment I hide behind my tears, and the moment after, I warm somebody's heart with my smile. Also, I often I want to hide in the darkness of the night I cannot live without the warm touch of the sun. My soul shines when surrounded by people, but yet it seeks for moments of absolute loneliness. I love the vibration of music and I recharge thought the sound of silence. The more I learn to surrender to this constant wave of being, the more I will found my self. I spent my entire life dwelling within. The more I tried to be strong and avoid emotional contradictions, the more I was falling apart. I often ended up thinking that I was too little, stupid, banal and fragile for this world, that I was so complicated and uncertain and therefore not worthy. Until one day, while sitting in the darkness of my little apartment, I understood how much I was able to love. At the same time, the worst of me and the best of me coexisted and I understood I hold within myself both Sun and Moon and neither of them were supposed to fight the other. So I decided to just be: stop hiding “the wrong Eleonora,” trying to be “the good one,” and instead embrace both of them. Life changed after that. After I made the choice to love my self for just who I am, imperfections included. * Thank you @fitqueenirene for being there, believing in me when nobody else did and thank you for showing how strong I can be. * Photo by @amieretzlaff Wearing @werkshop . . . #loveyourself #scorpion #inversion #backbend #yoga #yogagirl #myyogalife #beagoddess #yogapose #njyogacollective

I put up my first ever yoga photo one year ago on my personal account, and I can’t stop thinking about how much has changed in 365 days ? In just 180 of those days I’ve realized the full power of when I let someone tell me in so many different ways that I was less than … They degraded what felt like was a piece of my purpose in this life and ultimately I lost part of myself in the process I’ve been asking myself over and over again why I let that happen … and I am working on forgiving myself for being so naive and trusting That naivety is both the blessing and curse that comes with having a big heart — and also falling in love My yoga practice and teaching has been an integral part of growing this year ?‍♂️ ?‍♀️ The fullness of my breath and need to focus brings me back to the present moment, Back to the feeling of me being with and in my body, my right now. It makes me remember that no matter what happens, I can always come back to that place It’s the reassurance that everything I need I already have within me — and there’s something so special about teaching people that they have an inner light within them, too. No matter the issue we can always find it. In time, it has empowered and reminded me The absolute joy of feeling alive ?

* *My body is a gift, a vehicle and my body is my home. * *I did not always feel this way. In the past my body has felt like a cage, sometimes restless, messy and lazy…and sometimes i intentionally would numb it with bad habits. * *Sometimes I still have a bad day and fall back into the dialogue that does not do me justice and certainly isn't what I want to be sending out into the universe. * *Each day I become better at watching, observing and honoring this amazing vehicle that helps me work through my karma. And each day I become more aware that it connects me to the the divine whether in asana, meditation or sitting in traffic. Each day I have more gratitude for this place that is home to my spirit for a little while. * *Each day I practice.

Precisely how I feel, my love. – Children constantly reinspire themselves…which is something adults often lose sight of, and understandably so. Shit can be tough! – Here's to rediscovering your inner child! #myfathersthoughts

Today I reminded my yoga classes of one of my favorite lessons (@timsign credited). It's just this: each time we practice, we have an opportunity to shapeshift; to embody different beings, to learn from them, live in their shapes, and experience the world just as they would. To fly like a crow, slither like a snake, hug the earth like a lizard, root like a tree, and perch like a pigeon. Yoga lets us release the concerns of this form, the one we see in the mirror, and breath into a wholly new present moment. It's a beautiful gift. So tonight, I'm a tree. I'll even take it a little further, a willow tree. Willow trees symbolize magic, healing, inner vision and dreams. With 2018 right over the horizon, I think we can all use those vibes. And please, if you need a last minute gift for the person who keeps your grounded in this world – swipe left to see a @njyogacollective approved gift from @etchedatlas ? It's a tree of life, the symbol for interconnectedness. It is a timeless symbol of our connections to everything around us, and a powerful reminder that our own happiness and health are inextricably intertwined with the happiness and health of all living things. #standtall #trees #woodart #artistic #earthly photo by @amieretzlaff for #njyogacollective in pants by @werkshop at @saltstudiosap

The success of Yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships. Comment and tell us how Yoga has changed you ?psssst…..note the new studio location in the background.
