The incredibly strong NJ yoga tribe has always been at the heart of everything we do.

We understand the challenges that everyone will face with COVID-19 – and we’re committed to continuing to helping you find your flow with local, NJ-based teachers and studios in the safest way(s) possible. We started the NJYC as a way to deliver yoga-centric information, education, events, immersions, trainings, classes, and community connections to your inbox, social media feed, and google searches. We hope that in this time of social distancing, we can come together as a community to support one another through practice, conversation, and kindness.

So how do we do it?!

Simple. WE KEEP PRACTICING LOCAL!!! No, we can’t be in studios together but YES, we can still do #practicelocal on a daily basis with the incredible humans who are listed right here. We would also love for you to follow along with Bridget at @bridgetriepl and email her if you want to do a private yoga or meditation session virtually – bridget@njyogacollective.com.

Hey! We just put this up and there is more to come daily. I hope you’ll be there with us ❤️ #njyogacollective

PRACTICES WE RECOMMEND:

Jillian Schulz

Jillian is hosting weekly yoga classes through her social media platforms. Email at warrioryoganj@gmail.com to join.

Jillian has many autoimmune and chronic illnesses that require medications that lower her immune system. Through yoga, meditation and mindfulness, she has improved her immune system and her conditions. During this time when we’re all practicing social distancing, practice with Jillian online, improve your immune system and overall well being, and ground yourself in a diverse yoga practice.

View this post on Instagram

As most of you know, I have multiple autoimmune disorders that inhibit my immune system. Most of us are social distancing and working from home, so I want to offer weekly yoga classes affordable and online during this time. I will not be teaching at my regular studios for the next two weeks, due to medical circumstances, but I’m happy to practice with you on this platform! Email me at WarriorYogaNj@gmail.com to receive a link to this flow. I will kindly ask a $6.50 fee for the download of my video. Hoping everyone is staying safe and healthy 🙏🏼 💕 video will be up and running by 8:00pm tonight

My 9 year old started asking me about weight loss recently and today I discovered why 🤬 . Leela Nathan: Chair Yoga

These classes are FREE FOR ALL!

As we move toward more solitude in the next few weeks, studios are taking steps to provide online versions of classes. Please click on the link in my profile to be directed to an online chair yoga class, created by the Freehold YMCA, and led by myself. 💞🙏 Chair yoga is a wonderful option for anyone, gently providing breathe control, stretch and movement for the entire body. It's great for those who find themselves confined to a chair for an extended period of time and is also great for those with limited mobility. 💞🙏 All you need for this hour-long class is a chair and two blocks. 💞🙏 @ymcagmc

IB Warriors, We have waited this out until the bitter end to continue to offer you a safe place to practice and build resilience in challenging times. We adore you. Each and every one of you have filled us with joy the past few months, and we have been committed to making space for you in the individually specific ways you have needed it. — With the governors new rules in effect, and our commitment to preserve the health and well being of our team and all of you, we will be closing the studio until further notice to give us time to assess the current enviornment in order to protect the health of our tribe. We will be working on providing our monthly and annual clients with first access to online workships, classes and live-streams throughout this time to stay with you. — We understand and are empathetic to all of you who have been on programs and have concerns about losing your momentum. This is why will will continue to offer you these social channels. Amate Society

From Jennifer Elise and Amate: Our studio is continuing our regularly scheduled classes virtually as long as we can. As things develop we are trying to offer both live-streaming classes as well as prerecorded classes on demand. Our classes are accessible for all bodies and we can’t wait to meet some new yogis. Updates and information posted on IG and Facebook.

View this post on Instagram

Hello Amate Society Thank you to all who have supported us as we work through these unprecedented events. We are so glad so many of you were able to join us online this morning. We have come to the difficult decision to close in person classes. We believe in leading by example and all of the research has shown that social distancing is an effective solution to the spread of disease. It is our responsibility as individuals and a community to participate. Our virtual studio is up and running. You will continue to have access to your favorite classes and instructors, as well as some additional pop-up classes and meditation gatherings. We will also be providing access to pre-recorded classes that you can take at your leisure. We realize this solution does not work for all individuals. All active members, mini-members and Intro Clients will receive an email about their packages. All active class cards will receive an extension on their expiration for the duration of this closure. We will continue to take this week-by-week. So many of you have continued to support the studio by continuing memberships or buying an online pass. This helps us keep offering you quality classes and supports our teachers in making a living during this time. We know many of you have also been impacted by closures and cancellations and we will continue to work with and support you in your decisions. We are all in this together. Thank you for continuing to show your support to Amate Society! We will see you online! In service Jennifer & Bridget

Remember to smile. Also when things are tough. Teaching yoga is my only source of income. Is scary for me to think that is possible that soon I won’t be able to see all my students, teach and provide for my family. I am sure many other people feel the same way I do right now. But I want to remain positive and find new solutions for this temporary situation. DM for more info on how to practice with me from your home! I am currently still scheduling privates (via Skype as well). Also check my new class a Yoga at the Core on @alomoves. Link in bio to access all my classes and many more. Dear Movement Family…🕊 . We wanted to check in with you all to keep you up to date on what’s going on with The Movement and our current events. Even though our hearts are heavy, we’re focused and determined to continue to keep our community connected, healthy, and provide you with all the tools we can to support you. As the weeks unfold we’re all uncertain as to what events may challenge us. But we can say with certainty we are here for you. We have a plan for support and now more than ever is a time to put all our practices into action. 🌬 . We often talk about taking the strength, endurance, peace and tools we acquire ON the mat OFF.. and the time to implement that more than ever is NOW. 🌬 . This is just the first of our updates.. we’ll be sharing so much more soon.. · . Live streaming. We are going live within the next few days! We will be sending another email out specifically with instructions on how to get set up for streaming classes with your favorite teachers!🌬 . . · Schedule changes. Due to our current situation with the Coronavirus, we had no choice but to alter our class schedule for the time being until things level out. Please double check your Mindbody accounts for changes to our in-studio class times. 🌬 · . Smaller classes. To keep everyone safe, healthy and comfortable while getting their much-needed stress relief, we have decided to temporarily cut back on the number of sign-ups allowed per class. This will allow for all attendees to have enough personal space to do their practice as stress free as possible.🌬 · . Bar-less Barre classes. Given the layout of our studio, we have decided to proceed with bar-less barre classes as to continue to allow for comfortable space from your fellow Movement Tribe members. Trust me, you will still be getting the same hard work even if it is without the bar for the time being.🌬 . Continue to be well and love big.. remember this is so much larger than us. 🍃 Heal the collective and heal ourselves. Love Chrissy, Chris and the Movement tribe. — #collectiveconsciousness #heal #mission #vision #tribe #community #family #movewithus #jointhemovement #wewantyouwell

#30daysofspace day 7: serve . coming back (with both of these lovely faces) to something I touched on the other day. as a yoga teacher, my life, and my joy, where I learn and grow, see and feel, is through service. Yes, I make money (note I didn’t say living, cause if you teach yoga full time, in a studio, no instafame or sponsors, you’re aware it’s a labor of love, respect and attention to yogas roots) but as a practitioner, for years, working in the luxury fashion and art world I knew wasn’t servicing anything more than capitalism and materialism, so I turned in . I honestly don’t think that’s ever been as important as it is right now, maybe there’s people out there getting some relief, despite the situation as a whole, staying home and not working – but my heart is breaking every day I don’t get to be in a studio full of energy, hearing how people are doing, learning about their stories and offering my knowledge in anyway I can. in some way; I’m not really sure who or what I am without ‘yoga teacher’ . but it’s 2020, and while the vibe isn’t exactly the same, I’m so grateful to still be able to serve my students and students that wouldn’t normally be able to join me through online classes, while admittedly self-serving my deepest joy. yoga. movement. community . . . . . . . . . . . #yoga #yogaeverydamnday #space #iamayogagirl #health #stillness #yogaeverydamnday #vsco #vscocam #move #breath #gratitude #happy #love #peace #simple #simplicity #home #njyoga #njyogacollective #healing #itsjustayogapose #change #shift #new #flattenthecurve #responsibility #remote

We also wanted to share these studios that we love, who are working really hard to get content out there:

A N N O U N C E M E N T | HYP Livestream is coming your way soon!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼 . We hope you’re all staying as calm as possible with all of the craziness happening out there. 😊 We are doing everything we can to make sure you can keep up with your practice— and that means we’re going to have a Livestream option for certain HYP classes coming your way soon. You’ll be able to register for these classes on Mindbody the same way you would for in-studio classes, and then you’ll be sent a direct link to access the classes live OR for 48-hours after the class so you can practice at a time that works for you. We’re still open, still having in-person classes, and are VERY hopeful this will all calm down over the next few weeks. Stay healthy + happy! We’ll see you in the studio or on your mat at home soon. Stay tuned for full details coming to your inbox in the next few days! 💖

After much consideration we have decided it is in the best interest of our teachers and community's health to close for the next 2 weeks and switch to an online platform. The studio will be closed starting today. We are planning to resume classes at both studios on April 1st (fingers crossed). On the bright side… you can still practice with your favorite teachers over the next two weeks! Our amazing team has come together so we can offer you a variety of classes you can do right in the comfort or your own home. ✨✨We will be offering a daily yoga and barre class starting Wednesday March 18th. You will see the class listed in MINDBODY as Tula Yoga at Home or Tula Barre at Home . We have a combination of Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin classes. You can register as you normally would. Packages and memberships apply. We have also added a $10 drop in for at home classes. You must be registered by 9am the day of the class. We will email you the link to our YouTube page by 9:30am that day. You can do the class ANYTIME that is convenient for you from your phone, laptop or on your TV!! The link will be active for 24 hours. ✨✨Thank you all for your understanding and support at this time. If you have a current class package set to expire soon we will extend it for you when you return. Please stay connected with us social media and through emails. We will keep everyone updated with any changes! ❤️❤️Jen & Jen

Hi everyone, quick update, we just hosted our first live class today on zoom. I know some plp had trouble getting in the class or it was showing as full that is because I could only have 100 people per time on zoom. We had over 200 people trying to get into the class today so that is why some of you may have been shut out. My apologies for any technical difficulties, I will be posting a recording of the class later today so stay tuned for that. I will also email it out to everyone that was signed up. . Each morning from this point on I will just post a zoom link if you would like to join the class for the day, no need to register or sign up for anything. Each day after the class, I will post a recording of the class so anyon that does not get into the class can still have the opportunity to practice with your kids practice on your own. Hope this makes sense. Thank you to all that joined us today. Stay safe & healthy 💓
