Did you know that we are headed to the mall for meditation and yoga this week? Yes, seriously. Bridget is presenting OM at Macy’s: Yoga & Meditation on Wednesday at the Freehold Raceway Mall from 6 to 7 PM.

This event is totally free, so book your spot now! We’d love to see you there.

Now onto all the incredible things happening this coming weekend in NJ yoga!

Breathwork Workshop with Tiffany Curren

Friday at Alluem Yoga, Cranford

Breathwork is an active meditation using a two-part pranayama that will deepen your self-knowledge, release stuck energy, and let go of the messages that no longer serve you. You can release anxiety, limiting thought patterns, and even experience an emotional release. Make space for love, inner peace and all the good things in life. Connect back to the deepest part of your soul, and rediscover your true self.

This workshop will begin with an introduction to this breathwork practice, followed by a connected grounding circle. You’ll then experience the active breath, followed by a beautiful integration. (This workshop is 90 minutes long. 20 minutes of connecting, discussion and grounding. 35 minutes of active breath, 15 minutes of integration, 20 minutes to come back seated and close the circle).

Partner Yoga

Friday at Forged Soul Yoga, Cedar Brook

Join us for a lighthearted evening of yoga with lots of partner poses! Grab a significant other or a friend to get a good stretch and a few laughs!  No yoga experience required. Beginners welcome! A portion of proceeds to benefit Forever Your Overwatch: A nonprofit that protects and empowers. FYO provides training, empowerment, security, and the means for survivors of violence to protect themselves and regain control.

Shake off the Cold with Bridget Riepl

Two sessions on Saturday at Sun Moon Healing in Long Branch

Come to shake off the cold and shape UP your soul! Join us for two practices with Bridget. Make this the mini-retreat you want and need!

Rise and Release from 11:30am-1pm: You’ve arrived with one intention: to create a moving manifestation that will open you up, help you get unstuck, and start the magical process of magnetizing everything and anything you want.  Don’t overthink it – just say YES.

Routine and Ritual  1:30-3pm: Join Bridget for a practice that will open your mind and heart to what it means to resolve, reflect, reconnect, and create a ritual centered on movement, breath, and a beautifully simple journaling experience that will keep you centered and strong. Everything you need is already inside of you. This moment is yours! Step into your POWER, passion, grace, and greatness. All you need is a yoga mat, some paper and a pen, and a willingness to make everyday a bit more intentional and sacred.

The Art of Vinyasa with Evan Madeo

Saturday at Honor Yoga in Princeton

Vinyasa (sanskrit for to place in a special way) is a hallmark of flow classes. The repetitiveness can lead to deep opening and strength in the body, but if done in less than optimal alignment, it can also lead to injury. This workshop will teach you healthy alignment in each of the postures of vinyasa flow (downward facing dog, plank, chaturanga, cobra/upward facing dog), how to use prop and strengthening exercise to build up to healthy alignment. You will also learn how to link the poses together so you can (re)enter your flow classes safely with more strength and ease.

Day-Long Retreat: Community-Building with Clarity & Compassion

Sunday at Index Art Center Newark, NJ

In this day-long retreat, the invisible yet powerful dynamics in community life are discussed, encouraging practitioners to cultivate a keen awareness of them to engage in community life with wisdom and compassion. Dharma and meditation teacher Rebecca Li will lead this retreat that will include guided meditation, mindful movement practice, Q&A, and an Art of Seeing workshop. As well, Leslie Bangor will lead a gentle yoga session in the morning while Kathryn Davis will lead a flowing qigong session in the afternoon.

Nia Workshop @ YPK: Deep Winter Groove

Sunday at Yoga Peace Kula in Howell

Meredith is thrilled to come to YPK to share her vivacious and heartfelt expression of The Nia Technique. Combining Dance arts, Martial arts including Tai Chi and Tae Kwon Do, and Healing Arts including Yoga and Feldenkrais, this workshop will enliven your body, mind, emotions and spirit.

Raise your vibration and deepen your connection to what feels authentic to you, wherever your current journey finds you this moment.

Tune In – Restorative Yoga & Himalayan Singing Bowls

Sunday at Jyoti Yoga & Healing in Lyndhurst

Experience the sacred space within. This gentle practice combines the healing vibrations of Himalayan singing bowls & restorative yoga; a receptive practice for balancing the nervous system and renewing body, mind and spirit.

5th Annual Women’s Winter Wellness Retreat

Sunday at Ocean Waves Wellness Center in Ocean Twp.

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, fall in love with taking care of YOU! When you love yourself, you are so much more open to giving and receiving love from others.

Join Dr. Kerri Weiss and Tonya Molhem, LSW, RYT, for a special wellness retreat! Make self-care a priority!! Enjoy time to slow down, nurture yourself, feel inspired, and connect with a circle of women.

A New Moon Gathering for New Beginnings with Sarah Gibson

Sunday at Sun Moon Yoga & Healing in Long Branch

It’s a New Moon and time for New Beginnings. This is a time for you to set your Intentions, Reset Healthy thought patterns/habits, and begin your Growth for the following month.

NJ YogaMay Louie first took yoga in college to fulfill a Phys-Ed requirement and immediately fell in love. She, unfortunately, did not continue with her practice but reconnected with it when she retired from her corporate job in 2002 and has since become a serious yoga enthusiast. After her second retirement in 2017, she completed her 200-hour RYT certification, studying with Dina Crosta, Ellen Mosko, and Jamie Segal Hanley, with a focus on alignment based flow.
