New Year’s Yoga and Yoga Mat Vision Board Workshop for Teens!

Looking for a fun and different way to kick off the New Year? Start off 2018 with some yoga and yoga mat vision boards! Come meet new friends, gain strength and flexibility and leave officially leave 2017 behind! This workshop is designed for teens, girls and boys, from 13-17. We will begin with a small yoga practice focusing on setting an intention, or a “vision” for 2018. We will then use that positive energy and ideas to construct a vision board using a yoga mat and paint, focusing on your goals for 2018. Materials will be provided, but feel free to bring whatever you feel you will need! Bring in the New Year with an awesome new start and vision!

Set your New Year into motion with the perfect blend of a power vinyasa, yin and yoga nidra. In this workshop, we will explore the benefits of strength and flexibility on and off the mat. A strong vinyasa flow will make you sweaty and strong while yin yoga targets connective tissue to release tension. Yoga nidra, or yogic sleep, is designed to bring your body and mind into total relaxation. This workshop will leave you feeling balanced as you start the New Year.

Particularly, this workshop will focus on the muscles of the upper body. This workshop will focus on the shoulders, hips, trunk, spine and pelvis. All these muscles contribute to the stabilization of the core and extremities.
Back-bending Workshop: Journey through the Heart

In this workshop work on techniques to help dive deeper into back bends. Starting with basic postures, strengthen the necessary muscles to take more advanced variations. Explore these postures from front to back, opening up the muscles that allow us to move more freely from the heart. When we back bend, we work through the Anahata (Heart Chakra). This produces many benefits, including invigoration of the body and openness of our hearts, which lets us give and receive more love to those around us. May Louie first took yoga in college to fulfill a Phys-Ed requirement and immediately fell in love. She unfortunately did not continue with her practice but reconnected with it when she retired from her corporate job in 2002 and has since become a serious yoga enthusiast. After her second retirement last year, she completed her 200 hour RYT certification, studying with Dina Crosta, Ellen Mosko and Jamie Segal Hanley, with a focus on alignment based flow.[/box]
