Waiting and working for the weekend.

It's only Wednesday and I've already taught 13 yoga classes in 3 days. My next day off is Sunday so I'm officially halfway there. Yay! Between classes I've worked on video editing, finishing touches of my 300 hour Mod 1 manual, attempted to keep up with emails (if I didn't get to yours I'll get there soon 😊) and dealt with lots of stuff of being your own boss. I am loving this new vegetarian menu item for my clients! Feel the Mexican inspo with Smoky Black Bean and Tomato stuffed Poblanos. Vegetarian for #meatlessmonday or anytime. Slow cooked black beans with fire roasted tomatoes, garlic, red onion and cilantro. Golden bubbly cheddar on top. The poblanos have the right bit of vegetal heat and hold up to the stuffing. . . .

Pull on my heartstrings, not my hamstrings.

H A M S T R I N G S. Here is an effective way to stretch your hamstrings. – But first…. some fundamentals: When we say "stretch", we are referring to our muscle's ability to extend and lengthen when the muscle is put under tension. To effectively stretch a muscle we need to know 2 things. 1) Where the particular muscle/muscle group originates and attaches. 2) Then, to get the stretch you must move those two points away from each other ⬅️➡️. – Think of holding a rubber band and pulling it, evenly, in opposite directions, it stretches the center. Now translate that idea to your muscles. Generally speaking the hamstrings originate on the sit bones (ischial tuberosities) and attach on the bones of the low leg, the tibia and fibula. They cross the knee joint. So, to stretch them you must tip the pelvis forward and fully extend the knee, then any amount of hip flexion will increase the stretch. The pose in this picture is called #hanumanasana and creates one hell of a hamstring stretch on the front leg. – It takes a lot of extensibility to do this.
