You will leave with newfound clarity and tools to better align you with your destiny. Kundalini yoga is an ancient technology that uses breath work, asana, and deep meditation. This alchemical process not only aids in optimal physical health, but helps to release “Kundalini Shakti” our divine spiritual power. Numerology is based on the notion that everything is connected, and that everything exists in perfect synchronicity with everything else. By that standard, your birthdate is a unique code with hidden messages designed specifically for you!

How does someone with scoliosis or spinal fusion practice yoga? This introductory workshop with Liz Alvarez, PT and Yoga Teacher, begins with an overview and discussion of how scoliosis is defined and classified. Then we will explore the role that yoga, modified for various types of curve patterns, can play as a complementary practice to traditional treatment methods. Students will then learn specific yoga poses, breathing techniques, modification recommendations, and basic sequencing guidelines ideally suited to address spinal asymmetry and encourage a deeper level of mind body awareness.

Backbend Basics & Beyond

Overall, one gains a sense of well-being and a positive outlook on life. This workshop will guide you through preliminary work to prepare the spine for moving through simple backbends to the more complex. Care will be given to those that need extra assistance. It is recommended that students have studied yoga for a minimum of one year and do not have significant back issues (such as rods in the back).

NJ YogaMay Louie first took yoga in college to fulfill a Phys-Ed requirement and immediately fell in love. She, unfortunately, did not continue with her practice but reconnected with it when she retired from her corporate job in 2002 and has since become a serious yoga enthusiast. After her second retirement in 2017, she completed her 200-hour RYT certification, studying with Dina Crosta, Ellen Mosko, and Jamie Segal Hanley, with a focus on alignment based flow.
