I’ve found that my mat is my place to come home to on the best & worst days.
𝒴𝑜𝑔𝒶 teaches us how to adapt to change, to get comfortable with being uncomfortable, breathe into the areas of the soul & body that require more space for love & light, & how to release what doesn’t serve us. It’s a grounding for those that are anxious & can be a place to call home for those that are lost or are starting a new journey.
New paths can be frightening especially going into motherhood for the first time. Our bodies transform into a home for the most delightful miracle yet we still fester negative thoughts about labor, fear of failure, & fight our inner peace.
𝑀𝑜𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓇𝒽𝑜𝑜𝒹 changes almost everything in a woman’s life. There is this new sense of life, beauty, & an organic desire to nurture this tiny being.
No one talks about how anxieties arise like losing control, body image, change, losing who you were, & now caring for a life other than your own. No one can give you a set of instructions for your baby (because they’re all unique). No one discusses how every single day is a new ride; from no nap days to 3 am fevers.
WE NEED A WAY TO COPE!
I’ve found that my mat is my place to come home to on the best & worst days. Where I can let it out, move the anxiety out of my bones, and find a steady ground so I can be strong and reliable for my family. My breath has calmed me through every challenging moment in the past and in my life now as a new mom. Yoga is giving my family the best version of me & I am forever grateful.
